The Real Satellite Picture of Diwali Night in India By NASA
Last couple of years, an image was doing a round on social networking sites claiming to be a picture taken from space by NASA satellites depicting India on Diwali night (a festival of light). It was a fake picture which NASA also rubbished.
But this year NASA really captured a picture of Indian sub-continent on Diwali night.
Look at the below real picture released by NASA after this year’s Diwali (2012)

The high-resolution version of this image is available at NASA’s Earth Observatory website
You will be surprised that the following satellite image falsely depicting Diwali night in India, is actually a color-composite satellite image created in 2003, to highlight population growth.
